The 2022 vintage marks the second release of this exceptional Barossa Grenache. We were once again fortunate to secure a half-tonne parcel of this beautiful fruit planted in 1964 at the top end of the Dallwitz Vineyard.

This release exemplifies the variety’s charm, with fragrant, expressive aromatics and a vibrant sense of freshness and energy. There’s an appealing lightness to the palate, yet it carries enough depth of flavour and finely woven tannins to leave no doubt—this is unmistakably Grenache.

Hand-harvested on April 23, 2022, the grapes were destemmed into a one-tonne open fermenter, with 10-15% of the clusters left whole. The wine underwent a 12-day skin contact period, starting with a 72-hour cold soak. This ferment was not inoculated and relied on indigenous yeast strains. Pressed off to a single seasoned French Oak Hogshead.

Bottled unfined and unfiltered in November 2022. 400 Bottles produced. 14.4% Alc/Vol
